What We Do

Since 2018, we have worked towards supporting efforts related to eating disorder treatment and recovery.

Our Mission

The Emily Klopotek Angel Foundation (EKAF) is dedicated to overcoming barriers to eating disorder (ED) treatment by providing financial assistance and increasing awareness about the severity and prevalence of disordered eating. We aim to build a supportive community and enhance our reach to ensure everyone has access to the care they need.

What We’ve Achieved

  • Hosted an Empowerment and Body Positivity Silent Auction & Art Gallery (2018 & 2019). See pictures in our photo gallery!

  • Created and distributed Christmas ornaments (2018-2022). Pictures of yearly ornaments are available in the photo gallery!

  • Sold tickets to “Angels in the Outfield”, which provided access to a Minor League baseball game (included a spot in a reserved tailgating section as well as drinks and hot dogs in ticket price).

  • Featured in a local newspaper (Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune - see here!).

  • Hosted a community cookie decorating event (2019).

  • Utilized Amazon Smile to promote fundraising and thoughtful gift-giving during the holiday seasons (2019-2020).

  • Hosted the “Get ED-ucated” event in Green Bay, WI to educate and fundraise (2021).

  • Represented EKAF in Season 6 of Live to Give: MN, a Survivor-based charity event in the Minneapolis-Twin Cities area (2022). Check out Live to Give’s Season 6 page here!

  • Hosted birthday and anniversary fundraisers via GoFundMe and Facebook donations (2018 - present).

  • Provided several scholarships to applicants for treatment and recovery (2019 - present). Apply now!

  • Hosted a Chuck-E-Cheese fundraiser in the Minneapolis suburbs (2024).
